Our mission is to support and empower individuals and families impacted by lupus through shared experiences, support groups, and spiritual guidance, we aim to foster a healing community, promote healthy lifestyles, and improve quality of life for all.

Advocacy for change
Crystal Wings also works to advocate for change, for better access to care, more affordable health care, and research that improves lupus treatments.
We’re here to support those in need
Crystal Wings was first established as Fundación Alas de Cristal Internacional, a non-profit with roots in Colombia, founded by the Salas family, who has been deeply affected by the lupus disease.
In 2024, Claudia Gloria Salas founded Crystal Wings USA with the purpose of extending that wonderful cause to the United States, starting on Washington State.

What is lupus?
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues and organs, causing inflammation and damage. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, and blood cells.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is the most common type of Lupus. It is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to mistakenly attack the body’s own tissues and organs.

Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus (CLE)
A form of lupus that primarily affects the skin. It is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells, leading to inflammation, rashes, and potential scarring.
